Maxxis Forekaster [Gen.2] TR EXO DUAL COMPOUND MTB Folding Tyre

The MAXXIS Forekaster [Gen.2] feels at home during long tours, down-country laps and moderate trail use. The open tread pattern is designed for versatile conditions and is intended to offer reliable traction and predictable riding behaviour even on changing surfaces.

The open knobs are less likely to clog even in wet conditions and offer control on loose, wet and changing surfaces. What’s more, the Forekaster is tuned for efficient rolling and balanced braking and cornering traction, closing the gap between fast XC tyres and more aggressive trail treads.

The combination of EXO Protection and Dual Compound emphasises the versatile character of the Forekaster [Gen.2]. It is aimed at cross-country, trail and all-mountain use with a focus on control and balanced performance in a wide range of use.


Technologies:

• EXO PROTECTION
EXO Protection is an extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant protective layer on the sidewall of selected MTB, Gravel and Metro tyres from MAXXIS. The tightly woven material is designed to be both light and flexible, so that the performance of the tyres is affected as little as possible.

• DUAL COMPOUND
With the Dual Compound, MAXXIS uses two different rubber compounds in one tread. The properties and arrangement of the compounds are tailored to the respective area of use of the tyre. Depending on the tyre category, different dual compound constructions are used, which can differ significantly between gravel and downhill tyres, for example.

• TUBELESS READY [TR] 
In the MAXXIS range, Tubeless Ready [TR] refers to tyres with a construction that is designed for tubeless use with a sealant, a compatible tubeless rim or matching rim tape. The system enables lower air pressures and is intended to improve traction and ride quality, while reducing the rolling resistance. In addition, minor damages can be sealed directly by the sealant, which reduces the risk of breakdowns.
