The Rose RC55 is the result of consistent further development of modern road bike wheels. Developed for the Shave model range and designed to meet the demands of today's bike races, they combine high aerodynamic efficiency with controlled riding behaviour. Wider tyres, higher average speeds and the resulting increased demands on riding stability formed the clear framework for the development. The result is a system with two different rim profiles, true to the principle of 'aero in the front, lightweight at the rear' – wider and maximally aerodynamic at the front, more lightweight at the rear.     As the front wheel is fully exposed to the wind, aerodynamics are particularly important here. Increased tyre widths pose a design challenge, as the rim must not be in the slipstream of the tyres to ensure even air pressure distribution. The profile of the RC55 front wheel has therefore been increased to a width of 33.5 mm in order to create an almost closed surface and aerodynamic effect even with modern tyre dimensions of 28 to 32 mm. In comparison, the rear wheel rim is 3 mm narrower, as it encounters different flow conditions, thus reducing the weight of the entire system to just 1360 grams. 
The curved shaping of the rim and the profile height of 55 mm are also optimised to offer the greatest possible riding stability in crosswind conditions and to benefit from the sail effect even at a low angle of attack. In countless wind tunnel simulations, the profile was continuously refined – resulting in a 50 per cent reduction in steering torque compared to its predecessor.      As with the rear wheel, the inner rim width of the RC55 front wheel has increased to 23 mm. This gives wider tyres better support, more road contact and allows them to be ridden with less air pressure, especially in tubeless mode. This means increased grip and comfort, whether in tight crit corners or on challenging cobblestone passages. Those who want to follow the tubeless trend will also be pleased with the moulded contact surfaces on the valve hole, which make it easier to tighten the valve nuts.     Maximum speed was also a must for the rear hub, which was developed in collaboration with the specialists from Newmen. The hub body is uncompromisingly narrow to enable improved airflow and additional weight savings. The 24 Sapim bladed spokes with internal spoke nipples have the same effect and also contribute to the stability and aerodynamics of the wheel. In addition, new plain bearings and seals reduce frictional resistance, making the RC55 even faster.     Conclusion: With the RC55 wheelset, we have really gone all out so that you can give your all on the road.
